Inpex Energy Trading Singapore (IETS), a subsidiary of Japan's largest exploration and production company, Inpex, has entered into a long-term agreement with ADNOC Ruwais Liquefied Natural Gas (ARLNG), a division of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). This strategic deal focuses on the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the UAE's substantial Ruwais LNG project.
This agreement highlights the ongoing collaboration and deepening relationship between Inpex and ADNOC, two prominent players in the global energy sector. The Ruwais LNG project is a significant undertaking designed to boost the UAE's LNG production and export capabilities.
For freight forwarders and supply chain professionals, this long-term LNG supply contract signifies continued demand for specialized LNG carriers and associated logistics services. The development of such large-scale energy projects often involves extensive project cargo and heavy-lift movements during the construction phase, followed by sustained demand for LNG shipping. This ensures stability in the energy market, which can indirectly influence overall shipping demand and bunker fuel prices. Forwarders involved in energy sector logistics should anticipate consistent volumes for LNG transport on this trade lane.
