OceanScore and Anglo-Eastern Univan Group have joined forces to assist the shipping industry in meeting the stringent requirements of the European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) and FuelEU Maritime regulations. This partnership, which began in mid-2025, is designed to support ship managers and owners as new decarbonization mandates are progressively introduced.
The collaboration specifically addresses critical areas such as data management, the precise allocation of compliance costs, and the submission of regulatory reports across the fleets managed by Anglo-Eastern. The objective is to simplify the complex process of adhering to these environmental regulations, which are central to the EU's strategy for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from maritime transport.
For freight forwarders and shippers, this initiative is significant as it aims to ensure that vessels operating within EU waters remain compliant, thereby minimizing potential disruptions to schedules and avoiding penalties. Effective compliance management can lead to more predictable operational costs and a clearer understanding of the environmental surcharges associated with shipping. This could translate into more stable freight rates and better transparency regarding the 'green' credentials of their chosen carriers. The partnership's focus on robust data management and reporting should also provide greater assurance of regulatory adherence, reducing risks for all parties in the supply chain.
