The Misurata Free Zone (MFZ) in Libya has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, Belgium. The agreement, signed by MFZ Chairman Muhsin M. Sigutri and representatives from the Belgian port, focuses on strengthening cooperation in port development and logistics services. The signing ceremony was attended by Belgium's Ambassador to Libya, François Dumont, and a Belgian delegation.
This partnership signifies a strategic move to leverage the expertise and resources of both entities. For freight forwarders, this collaboration could lead to improved connectivity and more efficient cargo flows between North Africa and Europe. Enhanced logistics services and potential infrastructure upgrades at Misurata may offer new routing options and better transit times for shipments to and from Libya, potentially impacting capacity and service reliability on these trade lanes.
