Air France KLM Martinair Cargo has implemented advanced artificial intelligence functionalities to improve its commercial operations. The carrier's myCargo platform now includes an "Auto-Fill" feature, which uses AI to extract relevant shipment information from incoming emails and automatically populate booking fields. This automation is designed to reduce the manual data entry required for creating new bookings.
In parallel, the airline is rolling out "Auto Quote," another AI-driven tool. This feature is capable of generating immediate spot quotations for air freight requests, whether they originate from the myCargo platform directly or via email. The primary goal of Auto Quote is to accelerate the quotation process, thereby minimizing the time freight forwarders and shippers spend waiting for pricing information and reducing the internal workload for the carrier's commercial teams.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, these new AI tools are expected to offer substantial benefits. The Auto-Fill function should decrease the time and potential for errors associated with manual data input, leading to faster and more accurate booking submissions. Auto Quote will provide quicker access to spot rates, enabling forwarders to respond to their clients more rapidly and efficiently, potentially improving their competitiveness in securing air cargo shipments. The overall impact is a more streamlined and responsive booking and quoting experience, which could lead to improved operational efficiency and faster decision-making for those managing air freight.
