Jumbo has finalized an agreement with Dajin Heavy Industry for the construction of two new heavy lift vessels. These ships, designated as the L-Class, are designed for specialized heavy transport operations at sea. Each vessel will feature a deadweight tonnage of 25,000 DWT and has been developed internally by Jumbo.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this development signifies a potential increase in capacity for handling oversized and heavy project cargo. The introduction of these new vessels could offer more options for challenging shipments that require specialized lifting and transport capabilities, potentially improving scheduling flexibility and reducing lead times for certain projects. The added capacity in the heavy-lift sector may also help stabilize rates for these niche services.
