Peel Ports Group has announced a significant expansion of its logistics infrastructure, committing to add over 1 million square feet (approximately 93,000 square meters) of warehousing capacity across its port network. The initial phase of this investment will concentrate on enhancing facilities at the Port of Liverpool.
This development is expected to improve cargo flow and storage options for shippers and freight forwarders utilizing Peel Ports' facilities. Increased warehousing capacity can lead to more efficient supply chains, reduced dwell times for cargo, and greater flexibility in inventory management. For freight forwarders, this means potentially faster turnaround times for imports and exports, better options for value-added services like consolidation or deconsolidation, and improved overall reliability in their logistics operations within the UK.
The expansion reflects a strategic move to meet growing demand for integrated port logistics services and to bolster the UK's supply chain resilience.
