General Sales and Service Agent (GSSA) FlyUs has announced the opening of a new office in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This expansion directly follows the company securing a new contract with Air Canada Cargo. Under this agreement, FlyUs will manage agency services for the Canadian carrier's new freighter operation.
The new Air Canada Cargo service will operate three times per week, connecting Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) in San Juan with Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), Air Canada's primary hub. This development signifies increased air cargo capacity and service options for shippers and freight forwarders moving goods between Puerto Rico and Canada, as well as onward connections through Toronto.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this means a new direct airfreight option for the Puerto Rico-Canada lane, potentially offering improved transit times and reliability. The presence of a dedicated GSSA like FlyUs should streamline booking processes and local support for cargo movements on this route. It also indicates a strengthening of air cargo infrastructure in Puerto Rico.
