Circle Logistics has announced an expansion of its refrigerated less-than-truckload (LTL) service offerings, with a strategic focus on the food and beverage industry. The third-party logistics provider (3PL) aims to recruit frozen food producers and facilitate their access to consolidated cold chain capacity. This entire service expansion will be managed via Circle Logistics' brokerage model.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this expansion signifies increased options for temperature-controlled LTL shipments, particularly for smaller, more frequent loads of frozen goods. It could lead to more efficient routing and potentially better rates for specific lanes as Circle Logistics consolidates volumes. Shippers in the food and beverage sector might benefit from enhanced flexibility and reliability in their cold chain logistics, reducing the need for full truckload commitments for smaller consignments.
