Repsol has officially started bunker fuel delivery operations at the Port of Chancay in Peru, marking a significant milestone for the newly established port. The inaugural delivery involved supplying 740 metric tonnes of very low sulphur fuel oil (VLSFO) to a container vessel. This service is facilitated by Repsol's 20,000 DWT tanker, Thomas B, with the 16,000 DWT Adrian also stationed in Peru to ensure continuous, 24/7 bunker deliveries.
The service offering includes VLSFO, high sulphur fuel oil (HSFO), and low sulphur marine gas oil (LSMGO). The introduction of these comprehensive bunkering services is expected to bolster the Port of Chancay's appeal as a key maritime hub in the region.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, the availability of consistent and diverse bunker fuel options at Chancay means enhanced operational efficiency and potentially more flexible routing choices for vessels calling at the port.
