Regional Container Lines (RCL), based in Bangkok, recently conducted a naming ceremony for three new 4,488 TEU container vessels. The event took place on September 24 at CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (Longxue Plant) in Guangzhou, China. The newly named ships, "Anitta Bhum," "Benyapar Bhum," and "Chantisa Bhum," are built with future-proof capabilities, including readiness for LNG, methanol, and ammonia as dual fuels. Additionally, they are equipped to utilize shore-side electricity, contributing to reduced emissions while in port.
These vessels also integrate various Energy Saving Devices and other advanced systems. These technologies are specifically designed to improve overall operational efficiency and significantly decrease Sulphur Oxide (SOx) and Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) emissions, aligning with stricter environmental regulations. The "Anitta Bhum" is scheduled to commence its maiden voyage from Shanghai.
