Phillips 66 Limited has announced a key step in the integration of its recently acquired Lindsey assets into its broader UK business. This phase involved initiating rail transport of products from the Lindsey Rail Loading facility to the Warwickshire Oil Storage Terminal (WOSL), which began on September 9. Following this, the Killingholme Road Loading (KRL) terminal commenced its first petrol and diesel sales on September 10.
This integration expands Phillips 66's operational footprint and distribution capabilities within the UK. The company anticipates supporting a wider array of products, additives, and customers, along with increased volumes, through these newly integrated assets.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, this development signifies a more robust and diversified fuel supply chain within the UK. Enhanced rail and road distribution capabilities from Lindsey could lead to more reliable fuel availability for transport operations and potentially impact regional logistics costs. It also highlights the strategic importance of integrated multimodal logistics for energy companies.
The full range of products, additives, customer base, and volumes supported by these integrated assets is expected to grow, further solidifying Phillips 66's position in the UK fuel market.
