Petrobras recently held a christening ceremony for the Starnav Elektra at Rio de Janeiro's Pier Mauá. This vessel marks the first charter under the Brazilian national oil company's Mar Aberto fleet renewal program. The Starnav Elektra, a platform supply vessel (PSV), was constructed at the Detroit Shipyard in Itajaí, Brazil, with an investment of approximately R$450 million.
The vessel is designed to operate at various oil platforms within Brazil's productive basins. Notably, its maiden voyage from Santa Catarina to Rio de Janeiro was undertaken with an all-female crew, led by Captain Isabela Teixeira Ponce.
