Kave Home has selected TGW Logistics to implement advanced automation at its new distribution center located in Tordera, near Barcelona, Spain. The highly automated fulfillment center will incorporate several key technologies, including high-bay warehouses, autonomous mobile robots, and sophisticated automated palletizing systems. Once operational, this logistics hub is projected to handle up to 21,000 packages per day and provide storage capacity for 93,000 pallets.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this development signifies an increase in efficiency for Kave Home's supply chain. Enhanced automation in a key distribution center can lead to faster order fulfillment and improved inventory management, potentially streamlining the flow of goods from ports or manufacturing sites to the DC and then to end customers. While this specific project focuses on internal warehouse logistics, it generally contributes to a more robust and predictable supply chain for the shipper, which can indirectly benefit forwarders through more stable demand and clearer operational windows. The increased capacity also suggests potential for higher throughput, which could translate to more consistent freight volumes for inbound and outbound movements.
