Goldwind Green Energy, based in Beijing, has successfully concluded a trial production phase at its new green methanol facility situated in Inner Mongolia. The plant, located in Hinggan League, produced its first 500-tonne batch of biomethanol on September 10. This initial output is currently en route to South Korea.
The facility is designed to integrate wind power for the generation of green hydrogen, which will then be combined with local cornstalk and other biomass feedstocks to produce green methanol. This approach aims to create a sustainable fuel source with a reduced carbon footprint.
