The International Energy Forum (IEF) has released a new LNG market security report predicting a substantial increase in global liquefied natural gas (LNG) demand. The report indicates that demand will reach 800 billion cubic meters per year (Bcm/year) by 2031, a significant rise from the 600 Bcm/year recorded in 2026. This growth represents an additional 200 Bcm/year over the five-year period.
According to the IEF, the United States is anticipated to retain its status as the world's largest supplier of LNG, playing a crucial role in meeting this escalating global demand.
