Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) recently took delivery of three new LNG dual-fuel bulk carriers from China's Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding. The vessels, named Mount Victoria, Mount Yulong, and Mount Wuyi, are equipped with engines that can run on either liquefied natural gas (LNG) or traditional marine fuels. These deliveries represent the third, fourth, and fifth vessels of this type for EPS.
This fleet expansion aligns with the growing industry trend towards adopting alternative fuels to reduce emissions. The use of LNG as a marine fuel is a key strategy for shipping companies aiming to comply with stricter environmental regulations and improve their carbon footprint.
