DFDS has announced an increase in its freight ferry service frequency on the Damietta, Egypt, to Trieste, Italy, corridor. The company will now offer twice-weekly departures, up from the previous schedule, utilizing the vessel Ark Futura. This decision directly responds to the rising trade volumes between Egypt and Europe, which have generated a greater demand for roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) capacity.
The enhanced service aims to provide greater flexibility and improve supply chain resilience for businesses moving goods between these regions. For freight forwarders and operations managers, this means improved scheduling options and potentially reduced transit times for RoRo cargo, offering more reliable access to the Italian and broader European markets from Egypt.
