The German industry association Bundesverband Güterkraftverkehr Logistik und Entsorgung (BGL) has partnered with Depotcharge to introduce a nationwide charging network designed for electric heavy goods vehicles. This new platform, named BGL Charge, facilitates the sharing of private depot charging stations among various transport companies. The system allows carriers with electric truck fleets to make their surplus charging capacity available to other operators, thereby optimizing the use of existing infrastructure and supporting the broader adoption of electric trucks.
This initiative addresses a key challenge in the transition to electric road transport: the availability of adequate charging infrastructure.
