Amogy, a company specializing in ammonia-to-power solutions, and LOTTE Fine Chemical (LFC), a specialty chemicals firm, have entered into an agreement to jointly explore the provision of ammonia as a marine fuel in South Korea. This initiative will leverage LFC's existing ammonia terminal and bunkering infrastructure at Ulsan Port to supply vessels equipped with Amogy's technology.
This specific agreement is one of three key areas outlined in a wider Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two companies. The overarching goal of the MoU is to advance ammonia-to-hydrogen and ammonia-to-power solutions within the South Korean market. Beyond ammonia bunkering, the partnership will also investigate collaboration on hydrogen refueling infrastructure, where LFC would supply green ammonia through its international procurement and domestic network, complemented by Amogy's ammonia cracking technology.
