Indian air cargo solutions provider Afcom Holdings Limited has entered into a Letter of Intent (LOI) for the potential acquisition of up to four Boeing 777-8 freighters. This development was publicly disclosed by the company via an announcement on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Afcom Holdings currently operates a cargo airline utilizing Boeing 737-800F aircraft for its domestic and international services. The prospective addition of the larger 777-8F models would represent a substantial upgrade and expansion of its fleet capabilities.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, this potential fleet expansion by Afcom Holdings could lead to increased air cargo capacity, particularly on routes serviced by the airline. The larger 777-8F aircraft offer greater payload and range, which might translate into new service offerings, improved frequency, or enhanced capacity on existing lanes, potentially impacting air freight rates and available space for shipments to and from India.
