Transavia has significantly enhanced its presence at Brussels Airport, transforming it into a fully operational local crew base. The airline has now stationed four aircraft at the Belgian airport and plans to introduce new destinations, marking a substantial expansion of its network and operational capabilities in the region. Transavia initially began its operations from Brussels Airport in 2022.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, while Transavia is primarily a passenger airline, increased flight frequencies and new routes from a major European hub like Brussels can indirectly impact air cargo capacity. More passenger flights often mean more belly cargo space, potentially offering additional options for urgent or smaller air freight shipments. This expansion could lead to slightly improved air cargo availability and potentially more competitive rates on certain routes, particularly for express or e-commerce logistics.
