Saudia Cargo has introduced a new direct freighter service operating twice weekly between Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Frankfurt, Germany. The inaugural flight for this route took place on August 14. This strategic expansion by Saudia Cargo is designed to enhance logistics efficiency and facilitate increased trade volumes for critical sectors, including pharmaceuticals, textiles, industrial equipment, and the growing e-commerce market.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this new service signifies an increase in direct air cargo capacity on the Asia-Europe trade lane, specifically for shipments originating from Bangladesh. This could lead to more competitive rates and improved transit times for goods destined for Central Europe, particularly for time-sensitive or high-value cargo such as pharmaceuticals and e-commerce parcels. It also provides an additional option for routing textiles and industrial components, potentially reducing reliance on existing, possibly congested, routes.
This new route is expected to strengthen the air cargo connectivity between these two regions, offering shippers more flexibility and reliability in their supply chains.
