KfW IPEX-Bank has announced a €79.3 million financing package for the construction of two self-unloading bulk carriers. These vessels are designed to operate on methanol dual-fuel technology, supporting more sustainable maritime transport. The ownership structure involves a joint venture between Hartmann Schiffsbeteiligungen GmbH & Co. KG and The CSL Group Inc. Upon completion, the bulk carriers will be chartered long-term by Mibau Stema Shipping ApS, a subsidiary of Mibau Stema Group GmbH.
Each vessel will have a maximum cargo capacity of 44,000 tonnes and will be primarily used for transporting construction materials throughout Europe and to international export markets. This investment underscores a growing trend in the shipping industry towards adopting alternative fuels to reduce environmental impact.
