Exmar recently conducted a naming ceremony for two new dual-fuel ammonia-powered vessels, the Adinkerke and the Aalter. These ships represent the third and fourth such vessels in Exmar's fleet, following the Antwerpen and the Arlon. The Antwerpen, delivered in June, was notable as the world's first oceangoing vessel to operate with a dual-fuel ammonia engine, completing its initial commercial voyage under ammonia power the following month. The Arlon was delivered in late July from the HD Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard in South Korea. Both the Adinkerke and Aalter, like their predecessors, will operate under the Belgian flag.
