Excelerate Energy's floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), serving as an LNG terminal in Maheshkhali, Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, has recommenced its gas supply operations. The facility was offline for three days, causing a temporary disruption in the national gas grid. As of Saturday afternoon, the FSRU is reportedly supplying approximately 100 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) of gas.
For freight forwarders and supply chain managers, the reliable operation of critical energy infrastructure like this FSRU is important for regional economic stability. Disruptions to such facilities can indirectly affect industrial output and energy costs, potentially influencing demand for various goods and the overall logistics landscape in the region. The resumption of supply helps ensure consistent energy for local industries, preventing potential slowdowns or increased operational costs that could arise from energy shortages.
