ClimeCo, a leader in decarbonization, and Marsoft – Global Carbon Solutions, a maritime carbon credits consultancy, have announced the first issuance of carbon credits for the Marsoft GreenScreen project. These credits are certified under the Gold Standard and are designed to facilitate the decarbonization of the global shipping fleet. The GreenScreen solution works by transforming verified emissions reductions, achieved through vessel retrofits, into carbon credits that can be traded.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this development signifies a growing trend towards incentivizing greener shipping practices.
