Ray-Mont Logistics, in collaboration with Canadian National Railway (CN) and the Prince Rupert Port Authority (PRPA), has officially launched CANXPORT, a significant $750 million export logistics facility located at the Port of Prince Rupert. This new development is poised to enhance global market access for Canadian exporters and is projected to create thousands of jobs across Canada.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this new facility at Prince Rupert signifies increased export capacity and potentially more efficient routing options for Canadian goods destined for international markets, particularly Asia. The integration with CN's rail network suggests streamlined intermodal connections, which could reduce transit times and improve schedule reliability for cargo originating from various parts of Canada. This development may lead to more competitive freight rates for certain export commodities, as the added capacity and efficiency could alleviate bottlenecks.
The facility, operated by Montreal-based Ray-Mont Logistics, is expected to play a crucial role in unlocking new global customers for Canadian products, thereby supporting the national economy and strengthening Canada's position in international trade.
