Michigan-based third-party logistics provider Behnke Dedicated & Logistics has announced the acquisition of AG Freight. This strategic purchase integrates AG Freight's services, which include truckload, less-than-truckload (LTL), and drayage operations, into Behnke's portfolio.
The acquisition is set to significantly expand Behnke's operational footprint and market reach within the Southeast United States. According to Behnke's CEO, this move provides the company with a "real foothold" in the region, offering access to a vital manufacturing hub and an inland port.
For freight forwarders and supply chain managers, this acquisition could lead to enhanced service options and potentially improved capacity for truckload, LTL, and drayage needs in the Southeast US. The expanded network may offer more flexible routing solutions and better access to inland distribution points, particularly for cargo moving through the manufacturing hub and inland port now accessible to Behnke. This could translate to more competitive rates and reliable service for shipments within and through this growing region.
