Airbus has reported a robust performance for July 2026, securing 204 new gross orders for commercial aircraft. During the same month, the manufacturer successfully delivered 67 aircraft to 39 different customers. These figures contribute to a year-to-date total of 418 aircraft deliveries to 82 customers.
The A320 Family continues to be the dominant model within Airbus's extensive order book, underscoring its popularity and market demand. Cumulatively, Airbus has now amassed 26,534 commercial aircraft orders and completed 17,176 deliveries throughout its history. The global operational fleet of Airbus aircraft has consequently grown to 14,511 units.
For freight forwarders and air cargo operations managers, these consistent delivery numbers from Airbus indicate a steady expansion of global air cargo capacity, particularly through new passenger aircraft with belly cargo capabilities. While not directly impacting immediate air freight rates, a growing fleet over time can contribute to increased competition and potentially more stable capacity, offering more options for routing and uplift. The continued dominance of the A320 family suggests a focus on short to medium-haul routes, which can support regional air cargo networks and feeder services.
