The Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) in Malaysia has successfully completed the deployment of 58 electric rubber-tyred gantry (eRTG) cranes, supplied by ZPMC. The final eight units of this substantial order have now been delivered and integrated into the port's operations. This initiative represents a major investment in modernizing PTP's container handling capabilities.
This upgrade to eRTG technology is part of a broader trend within the port industry to improve operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Electric cranes offer advantages over traditional diesel-powered RTGs, including lower emissions, reduced noise pollution, and potentially lower operating costs due to fuel savings and less maintenance.
