OMS Group has commenced the construction of its latest cable-laying vessel, named CS Resilience. The initial steel-cutting ceremony for this vessel, which is the third in the company's next-generation GREAT-Class fleet, took place at the CRIST shipyard located in Gdynia, Poland. This event signifies the formal start of the vessel's construction phase.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals involved in project cargo and subsea infrastructure, this development indicates a future increase in specialized vessel capacity. The addition of CS Resilience to OMS Group's fleet will enhance the ability to undertake large-scale subsea cable installation projects, potentially impacting project timelines and available resources for such specialized operations. This expansion could also influence the competitive landscape for subsea cable deployment services.
