Starting September 2, METRANS, a prominent rail freight operator, will inaugurate a new regular service in western Poland. This expansion aims to enhance rail connectivity within Poland and potentially link to broader European networks.
Simultaneously, German intermodal logistics provider Kombiverkehr is also introducing new routes. These include connections from Germany to Italy and Sweden, further strengthening the European intermodal network.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, these new services represent an increase in rail freight capacity and more direct routing options. The METRANS service in Poland could offer improved transit times and reliability for cargo moving within or through the region. Kombiverkehr's new routes to Italy and Sweden provide additional alternatives for north-south and intra-European cargo flows, potentially reducing reliance on road transport and offering more sustainable options.
