Capital Gas Ship Management Corp., based in Greece, has announced the delivery of its latest vessel, the 45,000 cubic meter (cbm) LPG dual-fuel gas carrier named Aridaios. The ship was constructed by South Korea's HD Hyundai Mipo. The Aridaios is designed with the flexibility to transport LPG and other liquefied gas cargoes, and importantly, it can operate using both LPG and traditional marine fuels. This new addition is a sister vessel to the Aristogenis, which was integrated into the company's managed fleet in June.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, the introduction of dual-fuel LPG carriers like the Aridaios signifies a growing trend towards more sustainable shipping options. While this specific vessel is for LPG transport, the broader move towards alternative fuels can influence bunker availability and pricing for other vessel types in the long term.
