Bahri Logistics, a division of Saudi Arabia's National Shipping Company, Bahri, has officially opened the "Bahri Bonded Zone" within Jeddah Islamic Port. The initiative, supported by the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, is designed to bolster the Kingdom's position as a regional logistics hub.
The new bonded zone will provide advanced warehousing, distribution, and value-added services, facilitating smoother trade flows and reducing operational complexities for businesses utilizing Jeddah Islamic Port. This development aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goals to diversify its economy and enhance its logistics infrastructure.
For freight forwarders and shippers, this new bonded zone means improved efficiency in customs clearance and cargo handling. It offers opportunities for deferred duties and taxes, better inventory management, and potentially faster transit times for goods moving through the port. The enhanced services could lead to cost savings and greater flexibility in supply chain operations, making Jeddah a more attractive gateway for regional distribution.
This strategic investment is expected to attract more international trade and logistics activities to Saudi Arabia, further integrating the port into global supply chains.
