X-Press Feeders has announced the inauguration of its China East Mediterranean X-PRESS (CEX) service, set to begin operations on June 23, 2026. This new offering represents a significant expansion of the carrier's network, establishing its first direct maritime connection between China and the East Mediterranean region, including transit through the Red Sea.
For freight forwarders and shippers, the introduction of the CEX service means enhanced direct connectivity and potentially reduced transit times for cargo moving between China and the East Mediterranean. This direct route could offer more reliable scheduling and improved capacity options, bypassing transshipment points that might otherwise add complexity and delays. It provides a new, streamlined option for supply chains targeting these specific trade lanes, potentially impacting routing decisions and overall logistics costs. The direct access to key markets in the East Mediterranean could also support new trade opportunities and improve efficiency for existing ones.
