Sulnox, a greentech company specializing in fuel additives, has announced a significant four-year supply agreement with Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS). This new contract represents the largest commercial deal in Sulnox's history and will substantially increase the integration of its Sulnox Eco™ product across EPS's extensive fleet. The primary objective of this collaboration is to achieve reductions in fuel consumption and emissions, offering a zero capital expenditure solution for EPS.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this development indicates a continued industry trend towards decarbonization and operational efficiency. Carriers like EPS adopting such technologies may see improved fuel economy, potentially influencing bunker adjustment factors (BAF) in the long term, though immediate rate impacts are unlikely. It also highlights the growing importance of sustainable practices in carrier selection and supply chain management.
