OOCL has announced the introduction of its new Southeast Asia to Indian Subcontinent Service 2, officially named SIS2. This dedicated container route is set to commence operations on June 4, 2026. The primary objective of the SIS2 service is to establish a direct shipping connection between Haiphong, Vietnam, and the west coast of India.
Beyond this direct link, the service aims to bolster overall connectivity for cargo movements originating from or destined for key trade hubs including China, Vietnam, and Singapore. The full port rotation for the SIS2 service will encompass Qinzhou, Yangpu, Haiphong, Singapore, Mundra, Singapore, Hong Kong. This new offering is expected to provide shippers and freight forwarders with additional capacity and a more streamlined option for cargo moving between these regions, potentially impacting transit times and routing choices for their clients.
