NAVTOR has launched an enhanced iteration of its Digital Logbooks, which now incorporates the maritime industry's inaugural integrated Visitors log. This new feature is designed to simplify the tracking and management of personnel boarding and disembarking vessels. Additionally, the update includes a Remaining on Board (ROB) report function, intended to improve compliance with various maritime regulations and reduce the administrative workload on ship crews.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this development signifies a move towards greater digitalization in maritime operations. Improved digital logbooks can lead to more accurate and readily available data regarding vessel activities, potentially streamlining port calls and regulatory inspections. Enhanced compliance through automated reporting could reduce the risk of delays or penalties associated with manual errors, indirectly benefiting shipment schedules and overall supply chain predictability. The reduction in crew workload also contributes to better operational focus on critical tasks, which can improve vessel efficiency and safety.
