LBC Tank Terminals has given the final investment decision for Project Rainbow 5 Phase A at its Rotterdam terminal. This initiative will introduce an additional 41,000 cubic meters of storage, elevating the terminal's overall capacity to approximately 295,000 cubic meters. The project is designed to enhance LBC's competitive standing.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, this expansion signifies increased storage options for bulk liquid chemicals and petroleum products in a key European port. While not directly impacting container or air cargo rates, it provides more flexibility for shippers dealing with tank storage, potentially improving supply chain resilience for specific commodities. The added capacity could also reduce potential bottlenecks for liquid bulk movements through Rotterdam, a critical hub.
This development is part of LBC's ongoing strategy to reinforce its presence and service offerings in major logistics hubs.
