Hyundai Glovis, the logistics division of Hyundai Motor, is constructing a dedicated facility for importing finished vehicles at the Port of Amsterdam. This development is intended to manage the rising demand for car imports across Europe.
This new hub will streamline the entry point for Hyundai and Kia vehicles into the European distribution network, potentially improving lead times and reducing logistics costs. For freight forwarders and logistics managers, this signifies a more efficient and potentially higher-volume gateway for automotive cargo, particularly for roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) services. It could also lead to increased demand for onward road and rail transport from Amsterdam to various European destinations.
The establishment of this facility underscores the automotive industry's focus on optimizing supply chains for finished vehicles and adapting to market growth in Europe.
