HaiSea Marine has announced new contracts for the construction of three tugboats, including one escort tug and two terminal tugboats. Sanmar Shipyards in Türkiye has been awarded the contract for the escort tug, while Robert Allan Ltd. will design all three vessels. These new additions are intended to bolster HaiSea Marine's operational capabilities on British Columbia's North Coast.
The expanded fleet will primarily serve the LNG Canada export facility, providing essential marine support services. This investment reflects ongoing development in the region's energy infrastructure and the associated demand for specialized marine logistics.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, this development signifies enhanced marine support for industrial projects in British Columbia. While not directly impacting container rates or capacity, it indicates continued investment in specialized vessel services for large-scale energy projects, which can indirectly influence the availability and cost of project cargo logistics in the area.
