Glasgow Prestwick Airport (PIK) has named Jules Matteoni as its new Chief Executive, with his tenure commencing on July 1. Matteoni brings extensive experience to the role, having worked at the airport for more than 33 years. His most recent position was operations director. He will be taking over from Ian Forgie, who is stepping down after five years in the leadership position.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, changes in airport leadership typically do not have an immediate direct impact on air cargo operations, rates, or capacity. However, a new CEO might introduce strategic shifts in airport development, potentially affecting cargo infrastructure, ground handling services, or future expansion plans, which could have long-term implications for airfreight efficiency and connectivity at PIK.
