Energos Infrastructure, a maritime infrastructure company under the ownership of funds managed by Apollo, has officially become a member of the Gas Industry Advisory Committee (GIAC) within the East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF). This membership was granted following unanimous approval from all EMGF member countries. The integration of Energos Infrastructure into GIAC is expected to foster greater collaboration and strategic development within the East Mediterranean's natural gas sector.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, this development signals potential for increased project cargo and specialized shipping demands in the East Mediterranean. As gas infrastructure projects advance, there will likely be a need for the transport of large components, equipment, and modules, impacting vessel utilization and port services in the region. This could lead to new opportunities for heavy-lift and breakbulk operators, as well as specialized logistics providers supporting the energy sector.
