Caspian Offshore Construction (COC) recently finalized the acquisition of an anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel from Sinopacific Engineering & Contracting (SPEC). This new addition represents the inaugural vessel from the SPA90 series to be integrated into COC's operational fleet, significantly bolstering its capacity for offshore marine services.
This acquisition is part of COC's ongoing strategy to modernize and expand its fleet, particularly to support the growing demands of offshore energy projects in the Caspian Sea. The SPA90 series vessels are designed for robust performance in challenging offshore environments, capable of anchor handling, towing, and supplying various offshore installations.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals involved in the oil and gas sector, particularly those managing project cargo for offshore developments, this fleet expansion by COC could indicate increased availability and improved efficiency for specialized marine support services in the Caspian region. It may lead to more reliable scheduling and potentially competitive rates for projects requiring AHTS capabilities, impacting the planning and execution of complex logistics chains for energy sector clients.
