Bunker One has announced plans to deploy a dedicated bunker barge at the Port of Aberdeen's South Harbour starting next month. The vessel will provide marine gasoil (MGO) 0.1% and a range of bio-blends, from B1 to B100. This initiative aims to strengthen Bunker One's supply position in the Scottish port, acknowledging the increasing importance of the South Harbour in regional maritime activities.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this development signifies improved fuel availability and flexibility for vessels calling at Aberdeen. Enhanced local supply capability can lead to greater security of supply, reduced waiting times for bunkering operations, and a more responsive service for shipping lines. This could indirectly contribute to better schedule reliability for services operating through the port, particularly for those utilizing cleaner fuel options.
