Aviator Airport Alliance has finalized a new three-year agreement with Icelandair, under which it will deliver comprehensive ground handling and de-icing services. The contract specifically covers Icelandair's operations at Bergen Airport (BGO) and Tromsø Airport (TOS) in Norway. These services will support the airline's seasonal weekly flight schedules throughout both the summer and winter periods.
This partnership signifies an expansion of Aviator's existing ground handling network within the Nordic region, which now encompasses 15 airports. For freight forwarders and air cargo operations managers, this agreement ensures consistent and reliable ground support for Icelandair's cargo capacity at these Norwegian airports. While primarily a passenger airline, Icelandair does carry belly cargo, and stable ground handling services are crucial for on-time performance and efficient cargo turnarounds, particularly during challenging winter conditions requiring de-icing.
