Aviation Africa 2026 has announced a partnership with the African Drone Forum to co-host a dedicated program focusing on drones and autonomous systems. This event is scheduled for September 9-10 in Nairobi and will feature a specialized track, the inaugural African Drone Regulators Forum, an exhibition area, and live demonstrations of drone technology.
The collaboration seeks to foster stronger regulatory dialogue and facilitate the implementation of Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations for drones across Africa. The initiative is designed to address the growing interest and application of drone technology in various sectors, including logistics and cargo delivery.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, this partnership signifies a potential acceleration in the adoption of drone technology for last-mile delivery, surveillance, and specialized cargo operations in African markets. Improved regulatory frameworks and increased industry collaboration could lead to more efficient and innovative logistics solutions, particularly in remote or challenging terrains. It may also open new avenues for air cargo services and specialized freight handling.
