Avianca Cargo has introduced a new scheduled freighter operation to Viru Viru International Airport (SRZ) in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. The service, which began on June 5, operates weekly using Airbus A330 freighter aircraft. Each flight provides a capacity of up to 60 tons, capable of transporting both general cargo and specialized shipments, such as those for the mining industry.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this new route signifies an increase in direct air cargo capacity into Bolivia, potentially improving transit times and offering more reliable options for time-sensitive or specialized freight. The ability to handle heavy and out-of-gauge cargo, like mining equipment, is particularly beneficial for project logistics into the region. This could lead to more competitive rates and greater flexibility for shippers targeting the Bolivian market, especially for industries requiring specific handling capabilities.
