AD Ports Group has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IRH Global Trading to investigate opportunities for bunkering services and alternative marine fuels at Khalifa Port. The partnership will specifically examine solutions such as Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), biofuels, and methanol. Additionally, the collaboration will cover the development of necessary infrastructure, including fuel storage facilities, terminal operations, and capabilities for fuel sampling and testing.
This initiative reflects AD Ports Group's strategy to form alliances that contribute to long-term, sustainable value within the maritime sector. For freight forwarders and shippers, this development at Khalifa Port could lead to increased availability of alternative fuels, potentially supporting decarbonization efforts and offering more diverse bunkering options for vessels transiting the region. The expansion of fuel infrastructure may also improve operational efficiency and reduce turnaround times for ships requiring these services.
