UPS is set to expand its North American Air Freight (NAAF) offerings, introducing time-definite heavy airfreight services to and from Mexico. This new service, scheduled to commence in August, will provide customers with options for one, two, and three-day transit times, enhancing connectivity across the region.
The initiative is designed to better support production-critical supply chains by offering more reliable and expedited air cargo solutions. The expansion signifies UPS's commitment to strengthening its presence in the North American logistics market, particularly in response to growing trade and manufacturing activities involving Mexico.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this development means increased capacity and more predictable transit times for heavy airfreight movements between Mexico and other North American destinations. The availability of time-definite services can help in planning urgent shipments, managing inventory more efficiently, and mitigating potential production delays. It also provides an additional reliable option for clients with complex cross-border supply chain requirements, potentially impacting routing decisions and carrier selection for specific lanes.
This strategic move is expected to improve the overall efficiency and resilience of supply chains relying on airfreight within North America, offering greater flexibility and speed for businesses.
